Your piano is priceless. To you. But in the eyes of an insurance company, it’s a lifeless object with a set monetary value. Seems cold, but them’s the breaks. That’s why getting your piano appraised by a professional is highly recommended.
NOTE: Insurance appraisals are different than appraisals for sale. Our appraisals are specifically for insurance purposes.
Many websites will offer to appraise your piano. But they’ll ask you to do a lot of the work by taking photos of specific parts, uploading them, noting the year it was made, and perhaps some other wild-goose-chasery.
What an impersonal way to place a value on such a personal part of your home! A shame!
Properly appraising a piano is about more than looking at some photos. A close-up, in person inspection, where the keys can be touched with human fingers, the tone and timbre heard with human ears… now that’s appraisal done right.
And Jackson Pianos does just that. (No disrespect intended towards your dog, his paws and ears are great, too.)
When our technicians are done reviewing, they’ll give you a document listing its fair market and resale value, should you ever need to file an insurance claim.
Fees are $150.00, or $75.00 for Jackson Pianos clients in good standing. Just another reason to join the family!
