What to Look and Listen For When Buying a Grand Piano

Even if you don’t buy one of ours, do yourself a favor and consider the following during your test-play:

• Test the keys – Are they smooth and free of cracks? Do they have the feel and resistance you prefer?
• Know the dimensions of the room where your grand piano will live – If it’s going in a smaller room, an upright might work better for you.
• Have a “test” song or exercise in mind – Start playing and pay attention to whether the tone is to your liking. Too bright? Too mellow? You have to compare to know for sure!
